Level of difficulty and overnight comfort

Technical levels, snowshoeing and hiking. The hours are counted steps without breaks (wildlife viewing, take photos, meals...)

1: Very easy

Less than 2 hours walk on easy trails. Maximum 200 m in altitude. The typical output of discovery of the naturalenvironment or heritage. Most of the time this program are on half day or evening outing.

2: Easy

2 hours to 4 hours per day, with a gradient up to 700m. on simple routes. Porting a small backpack for business the day. Outing ideal for beginners or families.

3: Medium

4 to 6 hours of walking per day, up to 1200m. height difference on the trails can be rugged and steep. Backpack with business for 2-3 days.

4: Difficult

5am to 8am walk a day over severaldays, in the varied terrain, sometimes off the trails (boulders, snowfields,forests); sometimes air routes; backpack with effects for several days. Experience and training in hiking advice.

Level of comfort: accommodation for overnight

A: Adventure

One or more nights can be spent outside, either in tent or igloo, even under the stars. Require some experience or a desire to be close to nature. Materials needed: a good sleeping bag and sleeping pad. Cooking camp stove or fire.

B: Basic

Nights in dorm rooms, cabins or mountain pastures, even yurt for example. Often no shower or hot water. Request sometimes simply sleeping bag or a sack shack. The classic and general type of night for great mountain hiking in summer.

C: Comfort in rooms

Small hotel or inn, bed and comfortable Bed and Breakfast, with a basic level hotel, often warm. Hot water and showers, often on the floor.

D: Hotel

In a hotel, 2 to 5 stars, depending on the chosen program and applications. SR possible. Depending of the program, may be very difficult to find in classic tour.
